	____I am currently investigating the life and times of Abraham Lincoln for a serial sound project. As a result, I have started to create a body of physical work related to the president. This work continues my work with historical and cultural items recontextualized in modern terms. I have finished one part of the audio, Cardiac Lincoln
photo credit_brian taylor	____For the 2002 Stray Show in Chicago, IL the Dogmatic Franchise asked me to show some of the Lincoln related items I had been working on. Below are pictures of Lincoln: Hitching Post as well as Lincoln: The Prairie Years. Both items included audio comments. The Prairie Years had a recording of myself chopping wood, and Hitching Post featured a simple text style voice recording of the Gettysburg Address. Featured with these items was a letter I wrote to Lincoln which is on view here.

Ginger Wolfe described the work in her article on the stray show for bridge on-line as "maintain[ing] theatrical engagement with out becoming consumed by spectale-a significant accomplishment in the fair environment-while intelligently balancing a sense of legacy against almost comedic social commentary."
