tilt-shift-a-whirl
the following images are taken with a TS 45mm lens on a Canon 20D:
This has to be the saddest little po-dunk carnival in the world but the kids like it and that's all that matters. These photographs were taken while on my trip home for Thanksgiving in Owensboro, KY.

i want candy!

the saddest gazebo...with wreath

This is the Owensboro bridge across the Ohio River. I used to try to hold my breath going over this bridge but it's virtually impossible unless you have iron lungs. whatever that means.

This house had little scary scarecrow dolls in the yard. creepy! i guess it works because i wasn't about to get any closer.

I heArt Organic Farms <3
purple kale

the only apple

Les Brown Memorial Farm had their fall harvest celebration on Saturday. My friend Andy volunteers to take photos for their website and he asked me to join him. It was an amazing experience to learn more about organic farming and how detached we {city folk} can become about knowing where our food comes from and how it is produced. It really got me thinking about how our population is growing and our food seems to be diminishing and/or losing quality while it's becoming more expensive to sustain our community. It's kind of scary to me that not many people that I meet know much about how produce is grown and to think that someday there might not be enough food and we can no longer rely on farmers but rather ourselves to produce our own food. eeeek! i'm in trouble!

wash, rinse, repeat.
before:

after:

with this image, i was testing a post-processing technique i found on this amazing website by Diane Varner. The original (top) didn't evoke the feeling I was going for. It was too bubbly and colorful with the poofy clouds and blue sky. I wanted something more calamitous like the feeling i got when i saw the hides hanging there for sale for reasons i don't even know or ever want to find out.
